Frantoio Franci was born in the 1950s on the hill of Montenero d'Orcia, a small village near Amiata Mountain. The brothers Franco and Fernando Franci decided to buy an historic olive grove called Villa Magra, next to an ancient barn in which they created an oil mill.
It was the beginning of a dream and, for the people of the territory, the guarantee of a full time job.
In 1995 Giorgio started to work with his father Fernando and that was the beginning of a co-operation able to bring a strategic vision to the company and to design a business with a strong international scope. Giorgio has decided to differentiate the oil mill by focusing on products’ quality. The harvest is focused on green olives and olive oil bottles are offered all over the world; new labels and formats tell the characteristics of great Extra virgin olive oils.
In 1996 a star was born, that is the famous Villa Magra, the first extra virgin olive oil marketed in bottles and produced exclusively with olives from the homonymous olive grove. Villa Magra, the intense fruity flavour oil, becomes the symbol of the Franci mill.
The work and continuous research lead to the enhancement of different types of olives, creating extra virgin base oils but also the Cru ones, with an eye to the continuous evolution of the food sector, haute cuisine and the consumers’ needs. As a trademark, the Franci mill aims at pursuing a qualitative continuity, enhancing the scents and aromas of different olives types.
