Roccafiore winery was founded in 1999 by Leonardo Baccarelli, an Umbrian entrepreneur passionate about art and nature. Today a dream place where vineyards are combined with countryside and woods. An uncontaminated area that includes the cellar, a resort and a restaurant with a strongly sustainable vocation.
We are in Todi, in a well-known and appreciated farm, nowdays led by Ilaria and Luca Baccarelli.
There is the idea of modern viticulture; a space designed to work with respect for nature, grapes and wine, minimising mechanical interventions. The force of gravity and the drip system are used during the vinification phase. The mile stones are: respect for the environment, health of the consumer and of those who work in the cellar.
Hence the choice to reuse the water, to study wines with a low sulfur dioxide content, to entrust almost all the production aspects to the hand of man. Respect for places is expressed in the exaltation of the peculiarities of native vines (Grechetto di Todi, Trebbiano Spoletino, Sangiovese, Sagrantino), favoring Guyot as a form of vine trainng method. In order to maintain a high level of grape quality, certain agronomic practices are adopted to produce wines that are natural and derive from traditional practices, which have been re-implemented.
In 2016 the winery obtained the Green HeartQuality certification, that is the sustainability mark of Umbria Region, created to give value to those excellences that produce following low environmental impact protocols, which are committed to reducing water consumption and CO2 emissions through the use of renewable energy.
